For many long and happy years Lenora kept busy with writing, mucsic composition, performing, teaching and of course, her duties to her family. All of this finally took its toll on Lenora and she died of total system shut down on April 11th, 1736, aged 44. She was buried in Nurenberg near her at the right hand of her father and only his tomb separated her form her mother.
The funeral for Lenora Pachelbel-Bach was so massive that the huge church of Saint Sebald's could not house all the mourners. At the sight of her grave the crowd was so great that many could not hear the sermon because they were too far away.
Her music survived due to the efforts of her family and the Bach family and even eventually the efforts of Felix Mendelssohn, who rescued so many Bach and Pachelbel pieces as well as Lenora's and her son Johann too.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about Lenora as much as I have enjoyed bringing her to you all too, Peace and God bless.
